Meet Lamar

Papaver Design Studio is an ode to flowers. We are a bespoke design studio in Seattle, Washington, making flower arrangements, cloches, enamel pins, and offer a small curation of vintage and collected goods. We specialize in flower design utilizing silk flowers (an alternative to preserved flowers and fresh flowers).

I’m creative at heart through flower design, illustration, and being a classically trained musician. I value the experience in which art and nature make one feel.

Flowers provide a memorable experience and have a knack for bringing joy into our lives—whether they are real or artificial flowers. I’m quite thrilled to introduce you to my designs and hope they, too, make an excellent addition to your life.

In my free time, I explore the PNW with my corgi, attend Seattle Art Walks, browse vintage boutiques, and research cocktail recipes.

Flower Arrangements

Beautiful, full-size, and vibrant at every angle. The arrangements are artfully curated to bring good design into your home. We offer varying styles from traditional, organic, and colorful modern. Our silk flowers capture the elegance and vibrancy of real blooms, ensuring that your arrangement remains beautiful and fresh-looking all year round—without the need for watering. This makes it an ideal choice for busy individuals who appreciate the aesthetics of nature but seek low-maintenance alternatives.

Cloches

A cloche with a wooden base and dome. Inside, it showcases a tasteful flower arrangement featuring a silk flower. As a final touch, each cloche is adorned with a bedding of light and airy moss and a sprig of artemisia. A concept stemming from the Victorian era, we are excited to modernize this beautiful method of floral display.

Enamel Pins

Our soft-enamel pins illustrate photos of flowers I’ve captured during my travels along the West Coast. From the gardens of Filoli in Woodside, California, Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia, to our very own backyard in West Seattle, you, too, can take home a portion of some of the West Coast's most beautiful gardens. The pins are made from metal, stamped with an original design, and hand poured with liquid enamel paint. Always detailed, high-quality, and always beautiful.

Inspiration from Grandma’s garden

Flowers are part of my DNA. Nestled in the Jefferson National Forest in Southern Virginia, a young fellow assisted his grandmother with her year-round country garden. During this time, I learned about flowers and their many variations, how to care for them, and a thing or two about floral design. This began a 30+ year love affair.
